FAQs

How do I enter?

Online and postal entries for the Coventry Half Marathon are now closed.

What are the timing arrangements?

The Coventry Half Marathon will be timed using timing chips, which automatically record your time when you cross the start and finish line. Individual timing chips will be sent to all entrants through the post along with race numbers and instructions 1-2 weeks before the event. If you enter late, you may be asked to collect your chip from the Raceahead Desk in Millennium Place on the day.
The fun run is not timed.

When do I get my number and information pack?

Race numbers and final race details will be mailed out to all entrants two weeks before the event. If you enter late, you may be asked to collect your details from the Raceahead Desk in Millennium Place on the day.

Do I get a T-shirt and a medal?

All finishers in the Coventry Half Marathon and Mercia Mile get a finishers’ medal. The entry fee does not include a T-shirt. T-shirts will be available to buy through a merchandise page on the online entry system.

How many people ran in the half marathon and Mercia Mile?

In 2010 there were 1881 runners on the day in the half marathon and a further 478 taking part in the Mercia Mile.

How old do I have to be to run the Coventry Half Marathon?

Can anyone take part in the Mercia Mile?

Yes, the Mercia Mile is for absolutely everyone no matter how old or young and no matter how fast or slow. At one mile long, the event is ideal for adults and children alike and the whole family can take part together. You do not need to have children to take part in this event – it is for everyone! You can walk, run, jog or push a buggy or wheelchair – the emphasis is firmly on taking part and having fun! Fancy dress is encouraged for this event.

Will there be any showers?

Limited showers will again be available at the Coventry Sports Centre, located on Fairfax Street close to the start/finish area.

What if I change my address before the event?

If you move house before the race, please use the contact form (to be added) to notify us of your new address to ensure that your number and final details are sent to the correct address. There is a fee of £5 for this change.

Are both events accessible to wheelchair users?

Yes, both the Coventry Half Marathon and Mercia Mile are open to both unassisted and assisted wheelchair users. However, we recommend that only experienced wheelchair users, or those of a good standard of fitness take part in the Coventry Half Marathon due to the challenging and technical nature of some sections of the course. There will be a separate start for wheelchair users five minutes ahead of the main pack in both events.

What happens if I arrive late for the event?

The Half Marathon main race is due to start at 9.30am. If you arrive after 9.35am, you will not be permitted to join the race.
